By registering for or participating in any Moonrise Cups tournament, all players, teams, coaches, substitutes, captains, and representatives agree to follow these rules. Participation in a Moonrise Cups event means you accept these terms, our tournament format, our admin decisions, and any event-specific rules posted before or during the tournament.
Moonrise Cups reserves the right to update, interpret, or enforce these rules at its sole discretion to protect competitive integrity, player safety, event operations, and the overall tournament experience.
Moonrise Cups is not affiliated with or sponsored by Riot Games, Inc. or VALORANT Esports. Riot’s community tournament guidelines require community events to avoid suggesting official Riot affiliation and to include a clear disclaimer like this.
Players must have a valid Riot Games account in good standing.
Players must compete using their own account. Account sharing, smurfing to bypass eligibility, banned accounts, or using another player’s account may result in disqualification.
Players are responsible for ensuring their Riot ID, Discord name, and team information are accurate before the tournament begins.
Moonrise Cups may refuse entry or remove any player/team for any reason, including but not limited to cheating history, suspicious behavior, harassment, ban evasion, fake registration information, or conduct that could harm the event.
By entering the tournament, each participant confirms that:
They have read and accepted the rules.
They agree to follow admin instructions.
They understand that tournament decisions are final.
They understand that failure to follow rules may result in warnings, forfeits, disqualification, prize removal, or bans from future Moonrise Cups events.
They give Moonrise Cups permission to use their team name, player names, match results, clips, screenshots, voice/video appearances, and gameplay footage for tournament operations, broadcasts, social media, promotional content, sponsor recaps, and future marketing.
Each team must have 5 starting players.
Teams may register up to 2 substitutes if the event allows substitutes.
Roster changes after check-in may require admin approval.
Unregistered players may not compete unless approved by tournament staff.
A player may only compete for one team per event.
Teams are responsible for making sure all players are available and ready on time.
Teams must check in by the deadline posted for the event.
Late check-ins may result in the team losing its spot.
Teams must be ready to play at their scheduled match time.
A team that is more than 10 minutes late may be forced to forfeit unless admins approve an exception.
Team captains are responsible for monitoring Discord, bracket pages, and admin announcements.
Match format, map pool, side selection, bracket type, and prize structure will be posted on the event page or Discord before the tournament begins.
Moonrise Cups may adjust match times, stream order, bracket structure, or match procedures if needed due to technical issues, scheduling problems, platform outages, or competitive integrity concerns.
Admin decisions on scheduling and bracket operations are final.
Winning teams must report match results using the required method.
Screenshots may be required as proof.
False reporting, edited screenshots, or intentionally misleading admins may result in disqualification.
If a dispute occurs, teams must contact admins immediately with evidence.
Players are responsible for their own internet, hardware, software, game settings, and account access.
A match will not normally be restarted because of lag, disconnections, crashes, FPS issues, audio problems, or personal technical issues.
Admins may allow pauses or restarts only when they believe it is fair and necessary.
If a team cannot continue, admins may issue a forfeit.
Moonrise Cups is not responsible for outages caused by Riot Games, VALORANT, Discord, tournament platforms, internet providers, power outages, or third-party services.
Cheating is strictly prohibited.
This includes but is not limited to:
Using hacks, scripts, macros, exploits, cheats, unauthorized third-party software, or hardware advantages.
Stream sniping.
Ghosting.
Account sharing.
Intentional disconnects.
Match fixing.
Throwing.
Collusion.
Bug abuse.
Providing false information to admins.
Any suspicious activity may be investigated by tournament staff. Moonrise Cups may require screenshots, recordings, VODs, Riot IDs, match history, or other information to resolve disputes.
Refusing to cooperate with an investigation may result in disqualification.
All participants must treat players, admins, casters, sponsors, and community members with respect.
The following may result in warnings, forfeits, disqualification, prize removal, or bans:
Harassment.
Hate speech.
Racism.
Sexism.
Threats.
Doxxing.
Excessive toxicity.
Sexual comments toward participants.
Impersonation.
Spamming admins.
Abusive language toward staff.
Encouraging self-harm.
Offensive names, team names, logos, or profile pictures.
Moonrise Cups may remove any participant whose behavior damages the community, the event, sponsors, or the reputation of Moonrise Cups.
Tournament admins have final authority over rule interpretation, disputes, match results, penalties, and eligibility.
Admins may make decisions not specifically covered by these rules if needed to protect fairness, safety, or event operations.
Arguing with admins, refusing instructions, or attempting to manipulate decisions may result in penalties.
Prize amounts, payment method, and payout timing will be posted for each event.
Players and teams are responsible for providing accurate payment information.
Moonrise Cups may withhold prizes if a player or team violates rules, provides false information, is under investigation, or cannot legally receive payment.
Prize payments may require identity, tax, or payment verification.
Moonrise Cups is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect payment details, payment processors, banks, platform issues, or failure to respond.
Unless stated otherwise, prizes are paid to the team captain, and the team is responsible for dividing winnings internally.
Sponsors may be featured in tournament graphics, broadcasts, Discord announcements, social media posts, and event pages.
Participants agree not to harass, defame, impersonate, or abuse Moonrise Cups sponsors or partners.
Moonrise Cups may reject sponsor conflicts, offensive team branding, or content that creates risk for the event.
For VALORANT community tournaments, Riot’s guidelines restrict certain sponsor categories and set limits for community competitions, including small tournament prize limits. Keep your event sponsor categories clean and avoid implying official Riot/VCT affiliation.
Moonrise Cups may broadcast, record, clip, edit, and repost tournament matches.
By participating, players give Moonrise Cups permission to use their gameplay, voice, username, team name, likeness, and match performance in event content, promotional content, highlight videos, sponsor recaps, and social media.
Teams may stream their own matches unless event-specific rules say otherwise.
Moonrise Cups may require stream delays or limit player streams for competitive integrity.
All players must follow Riot Games’ Terms of Service, VALORANT rules, Discord rules, and any tournament platform rules.
Any player banned or restricted by Riot Games, Discord, or the tournament platform may be removed from the event.
Moonrise Cups is not responsible for enforcement actions taken by Riot Games or any third-party platform.
If an event has an entry fee, refund rules will be posted on the event page.
Moonrise Cups may cancel, postpone, reschedule, or modify an event due to low registration, technical issues, staffing issues, platform outages, sponsor issues, safety concerns, or circumstances outside our control.
If an event is canceled, Moonrise Cups will communicate next steps as soon as reasonably possible.
Moonrise Cups is not responsible for player travel costs, equipment costs, lost time, lost income, or other expenses connected to participation.
Moonrise Cups may disqualify or ban any player/team for:
Rule violations.
Cheating.
Toxic conduct.
False registration information.
Ignoring admins.
Chargebacks.
Prize fraud.
Ban evasion.
Platform abuse.
Behavior that harms the tournament or community.
Disqualification may result in loss of placement, loss of prize eligibility, removal from future events, and public correction of results.
By registering for or participating in a Moonrise Cups event, you agree that Moonrise Cups has the authority to operate the event, enforce the rules, make final decisions, use tournament-related content, and remove participants when necessary.
If you do not agree to these rules, do not register or participate.
